About admission
Admission to schools of the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions begins in June; exams will be held in July
This was announced at a briefing at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications by Jurabek Jangirov, head of the information service of the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions.
The Agency's system currently includes 14 Presidential schools, 9 creative schools and 182 specialized schools.
Admission of students to these schools is organised under the regulations approved by Resolution No. 214 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 27 May 2023.
For the 2024–2025 academic year, the minutes of the relevant Cabinet of Ministers meeting on document acceptance and entrance examinations for the Agency's schools have been approved.
Accordingly, document submission is planned for June this year and entrance examinations for July.
Presidential schools admit 12 students to each of two grades, 24 students in total, within the annual quota; creative and specialized schools admit students within the quota set by the Agency.
Parents or legal representatives submit the following documents online through the Agency's official website ariza.piima.uz:
— a copy of the student's report card for the relevant academic year, certified by the school principal;
— a photo of the student taken within the last 2 months, used to issue the exam admission card;
— the student's birth certificate, passport details of a parent (legal representative) and mobile phone numbers for contact.
When submitting documents, the parent (legal representative) confirms an online offer acknowledging the conditions and requirements of the entrance exams.
When applying to a Presidential or specialized school, students may voluntarily choose one additional specialized school in their region.
Students who successfully pass stage 2 of a Presidential school's entrance exam but are not admitted are accepted without an exam to their chosen specialized school in the region within the set quota, in order of points scored. No privilege applies once the quota is exceeded.
Students of general secondary, secondary specialized and primary vocational institutions who took 1st–3rd place in mathematics, informatics, physics, chemistry or biology at the third (regional) stage, or an equivalent stage, of international, regional or national olympiads on the list approved by the Agency are also admitted without entrance exams to specialized schools in their region within the admission quota.
In addition, students may apply separately to grade 5 of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi specialized school and to grade 7 of the Abu Ali ibn Sino and Mirzo Ulugbek specialized schools.
This academic year, branches of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi specialized school were opened in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and in the Andijan and Samarkand regions. For 2024–2025, only students of those regions apply to these schools. Such schools are planned to be opened gradually in all other regions in the coming years.
Presidential schools accept documents from capable and gifted fourth-grade graduates who finished the year with top marks, i.e. 5, in mathematics and natural science according to their report cards.
Top marks on the report card are not required when applying to creative and specialized schools.
Students can apply only to Presidential and specialized schools in the region (province) where they study.
Entrance exams for Presidential schools are held in two stages in the following subjects:
first stage — a mathematics test with 30 questions.
Based on the first stage, students with the highest scores are admitted to the second stage, at a rate of 20 students per quota place — 480 students in total per school.
The second-stage entrance exams are held as tests in the following subjects:
– mathematics: 40 tests on critical thinking and problem solving;
